Saint Hardyal Educational and Orphans Welfare Society (SHEOWS) is a trusted nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and caring for abandoned and destitute elderly in India. Established in 1994, SHEOWS has, for over three decades, served as a “home away from home” for thousands of elders left helpless on the streets, often battling severe health challenges and emotional trauma.
Over the years, SHEOWS has cared for more than 12,000 abandoned and destitute elders, reunited over 4,000 with their families, and ensured the dignified cremation of more than 7,000 elderly who had no one to claim them.
Our centres in Okhla (Delhi), Gautampuri (Delhi), and Garhmukteshwar (Uttar Pradesh) have become true sanctuaries for elderly individuals rescued from streets, hospitals, and inhumane conditions—many of whom have suffered severe physical and mental abuse. These centres collectively provide comprehensive care to over 500 elderly residents, offering not only physical support but also emotional healing and a deep sense of belonging.

Our dedicated rescue teams operate round the clock, ensuring immediate response and safe transfer of vulnerable individuals who require medical attention.

We provide a secure, hygienic, and compassionate living environment for over 500 residents, ensuring dignity, comfort, and long-term care for the elderly and destitute.

From curative to preventive healthcare, residents receive continuous medical supervision and treatment doctors, supported by modern clinical protocols.

Our in-house pathology lab, radiology services, and fully equipped operation theatre enable timely diagnosis and surgical interventions without external dependency.

Dedicated physiotherapy and rehabilitation programs help residents regain mobility, manage chronic conditions, and improve overall physical independence.

We focus on emotional and mental wellness through counseling, compassionate caregiving, and a supportive community that nurtures peace and purpose.

For far too many elderly in India, old age becomes a time of abandonment and pain, when it should be a chapter of comfort, dignity, and peace. At SHEOWS, we have seen how loneliness, dementia, and social isolation can slowly break a person not just physically, but emotionally. Our commitment is to bring them back to life with compassion, care, and a sense of belonging.
With the Sohna Geriatric Centre, we envision a purpose-built sanctuary where the elderly can receive specialized medical care, mental health support, and above all the compassion they deserve. This Centre will be a cornerstone in our ongoing efforts to build a future where no elder is left behind.

This Centre represents a transformative step forward not just for SHEOWS, but for the landscape of eldercare in India. It brings together three powerful pillars: compassionate healthcare, geriatric research, and the training of a new generation of caregivers.
We are not building an institution we are creating an ecosystem where age is met with dignity, where medical and emotional needs are treated with equal care, and where innovation meets compassion. This is our commitment: to build a legacy of healing, purpose, and respect for every elderly life. Commitment: to build a legacy of healing, purpose, and respect for every elderly life.

Our medical infrastructure will provide holistic and specialized healthcare for the elderly, with a focus on prevention, early detection, and long-term treatment.
